So i know most of ttg's well known members have made a review. I thought i would do one from a gaming perspective.

The immediate comparison for halo 4 is halo 3 which proves to be an odd comparison because the play style of the game i found is both different and lacks the original halo qualities.

343 chose a challenging market when they targeted the halo community as their first major game release. Being an MLG game I would assume that they would have kept the online play somewhat the same and just be an excitation of the continued campaign ultimately The realization of 'chief's' retirement at the end. I am happy to say that the campaign proved to be in my opinion both challenging and more realistic with more interactive goals and side objectives.

The downside of the campaign is that it lacks the halo feel and with a few gadgets thrown in along the way i feel that it was rushed and did not quench my thirst and unlike halo 3 and ODST it did not make me long for more and so i would rate the single player campaign missions as an all around 8/10.

Now for the part that most of you have been waiting for or reading on to see.

The online play was nothing short of a miracle. I feel the reach limited the halo feel making it more like black-light and tango down. The fact that 343 industries tried to combine the personalized feel of call of duty and the all out assault feel of halo 3 has left a 'HOLY OFFSPRING' of the worlds best multi-player experience to date.

The main reason that i think that 343 did this was to ensure that both CoD players and Halo players could find a common ground where they could enjoy the customizations of call of duty and the slow more complex pace of halo.

The main mistake i feel about the online XP system is that there is both a 'cap' and spartan ops offers xp from completing the missions allowing new players to rank up to 130 without even having to go online, especially with the help of double xp codes.

when compared to call of duty the special ops never really got played because of this reason and i can see why 343 put both in the game. to counteract each-other.

The forge is still no where near as good and i found that making maps was a lot easier and simple on halo 3.

All in all a kick ass game which deserves a 9/10.

I mean if you are looking for a 30 fps game of head on idiots with a 1st shot wins system go for black ops.

if you want quality and challenging game play with the option for completely new and bizzare maps go for halo.

Regards

A lonely chris
