5. Credits Earned List
So it seems no one truly knows how to get credits in Halo: Reach. That is, until now.
I purchased the legendary edition strategy guide and inside it was a list of how to
get credits and the amount they gave. There are only two ways to not get credits in a
game:
1) leave the game early.
2) Don't do anything.
However, there is still a thing called the lottery. It will randomly give you credits,
but I am unsure how many credits you need to get for that to come into play. So enjoy
the list and I hope it helps you purchase items from the armory.
Example: Action-Credits you earn

Mission 01 - Noble Actual
What the game calls "Mission 01" is actually just the opening cinematic, this will be your easiest Mission.
Mission 02 - Winter Contingency
After being introduced to the rest of Noble Squad, you'll head out on your first mission, which doesn't go as smoothly as projected. You're being sent to investigate a downed relay station, and some missing military personnel. As the newest replacement member of the squad, you're looking to prove yourself in battle. You'll have plenty of opportunity.
The first few minutes of the mission are spent building the tension. Follow the rest of the squad from checkpoint to checkpoint, as you identify, then investigate, the relay station. If you're unfamiliar with the controls, you'll be brought up to speed during the course of the mission.
Your first action occurs shortly after you find the missing--now officially dead--soldiers. Covenant forces will appear outside the next building you enter; they're plainly visible outside the windows on the second floor. Gun down this first of many waves, then head down the stairs on your right, along with the rest of the squad. Fight more enemies in the basement, and just outside. When you've neutralized this threat, move forward; watch for small enemy groups along the path. Shortly, a troop ship will discharge its cargo of reinforcements, and the battle will be on again. Wipe them out, then move forward; after being assigned point, head across the shallow stream, and engage another enemy squad. Stay on your toes; it's here that the Covenant will start using grenades. After taking out this group, Noble Squad will split up; follow Carter and Jorge to the left, into the valley there.
Hop in the truck, and drive forward. If you haven't played a Halo game before, the driving controls may take a little getting used to. Move forward and backward with Left Stick, and turn with Right Stick. You have no weapon while driving the truck, but you can kill enemies by running over them. When you get to the river, turn right, and head along its bank. At the building ahead, fight a squad of Covenant. When they're dust, get back in the car, and head down the path on the left. Small groups of enemies are arrayed along the path to try to slow you down; take them out, or just drive past. Look for a group of friendlies up ahead on the right; hop out, and help them fight off a group of Covenant. Stick with them until the evac vehicles arrive. Before it can get there, a Covenant troop ship will drop enemies on your location. Fight off the multiple waves of them; the evac won't appear until the landing zone is completely clear. When it does, climb aboard the vehicle with Carter and Jorge.
When you reach the rest of Noble Squad, fight off the Covenant forces attacking their position. More will arrive shortly; lots more. Defend the position against the large waves of enemies coming from the drop ship. When you get the word, head inside with the rest of the squad. If the door's closed when you get there, just keep fighting until they open it, and rush inside.
Follow the rest of the squad into the complex. Switch on your night vision (Left on the Directional Pad) when prompted. After the cutscene, go with Jorge into the dark, narrow rooms ahead. Clear them of the shielded, grenade-chucking enemies ahead. Make use of your own grenades, and whatever good guns you can find. Battle your way forward; when confronted by a group of enemies across a gap, head down the hallway on the right to flank them. Be ready for two Elites (tough, Energy-Sword-wielding enemies) to jump you here. Then follow the waypoint to the console, and activate it to finish the mission.

Mission 03 - Oni: Sword Base
Start the mission by battling the large Covenant contingent invading Sword Base. There are enemies all over the courtyard. The main force in straight ahead, but there are significant amounts of enemies above, too; watch for them to attack from the stairs on the left. Take them down, and head up the stairs, then battle along the second floor; it's better to take the enemies below from the side than to try a frontal assault. Methodically eliminate all enemies in the courtyard. Follow the green ordinance marker to the right and pick up the Target Locator there before heading to your next destination.
Follow Noble along the path. When the enemy tanks appear ahead, use the Target Locator to mark them for air strike. Remember, you have to hold Right Trigger until the target is set. Watch out for smaller enemies; don't get so distracted taking out the tanks that you get shot down by a lesser enemy. Avoid the powerful energy shells the tanks shoot at all costs, though.
Once the tanks, and the erst of the enemies here, are cleaned up, a friendly transport ship will stop by, just long enough to drop off a Warthog. Hop in, and head to either Farragut Station (the left-hand fork in the road ahead) or Airview (the right-hand fork). You'll have to do both eventually, but the order is up to you. The pathway is circular, so you can reach either base by simply proceeding from the other.
Airview: Drive along the path, running down or driving past the scattered enemies along the way. Go past the large ruined building on your right. The next set of buildings is Airview. Eliminate all enemy resistance here. Watch out for vehicles; if you still have the Target Locator, you should be able to take them out quickly. Or, you can commandeer the vehicles by holding X nearby. There's an armor abilities station in the hut on the left. Inside the building on the right, on the first floor, is a health station, and a a weapons locker. Go upstairs, and find the console, on the eastern corner of the roof. Activate it to get the AA gun back online.
Farragut Station: Head along the path until you come to the complex of buildings. It's heavily occupied by enemy forces, including vehicles. Eliminate Covenant resistance, then find the generator, just inside the first building. Activate the generator, then move toward the building marked by the next waypoint. A drop ship will appear just after you activate the generator, and more enemies will flood in, looking to defend the comm array's controls. There's a Needle Rifle on the roof of the first building, with which you can peg away at them from a distance. Take them out one way or another, and get to the controls. Look for armor, health and weapons stations inside the building, then head to the roof. Activate the controls to get the vital comm station back on line.
When you've finished with both Airview and Farragut Station, head back to Sword Base. Since the path is circular, just keep going, pas whichever of the two stations you did second. Be prepared for a big battle when you get near Sword. There are multiple enemy vehicles, both Ghosts and Revenants. Use your Target Locator if you still have it; otherwise, remember that both vehicles offer little protection for their crew, and both can be commandeered for your own use. Stay clear of the Revenants' powerful artillery blasts. When you've cleared out the area, get to the controls on the left up ahead, and activate them to reenter an eerily desolate Sword Base.
There are more enemies ahead. Take them out, and move forward. In the next building, you'll have to battle two Hunters. These devastating bruisers can only be damaged on their exposed orange parts, on the neck and backs. That means you'll have to use teamwork to take them down. Since you can't tell Kat where to go, you need to react to her; when a Hunter is focusing on her, circle around and pound him as much as possible. There are shotguns and extra grenades in a locker just before the entrance to this room; the grenades are particularly effective if aimed well, but beware of using the shotgun, since getting close to the Hunters means making yourself vulnerable to their one-hit melee attacks. Needless to say, stay well clear of the blasts from their weapons. When you see one charging up, quickly move out of the way. There are a few smaller enemies in this area too, so don't let your guard down just because you're momentarily out of the line of fire of the Hunters. When you've taken down both of these menaces, get in the elevator on the left, and ride it.
After--briefly--reconnecting with the rest of Noble, battle through the enemies here, and up the stairs. There are plenty more Covenant up there. Keep moving forward; look for health and weapons stations along the walls as you go. When you reach the gaping hole in the building, take out the enemies outside, and defend the troops with Rocket Launchers as they take down the enemy gunship. You can fire on the enemies in the turrets on each wing. After the ships are knocked out of the sky, the mission will be over.

Mission 04 - Nightfall
After the opening cutscene, move forward along the path. Up ahead, stop and take out the Elite. There's another enemy ahead, which your partner should take out. Then snipe the few Covenant soldiers at the camp just below, and continue along the path. Just ahead, you'll come to a larger enemy concentration. Take them down, starting with the Elite up on the roof on the right. After you've eliminated the first group, another will arrive on a drop ship. Keep fighting. You can snipe from above and/or drop down into the settlement to fight up close. You'll probably want to at least thin out their ranks before taking them on on their own level. When they're all down, head forward, through the building at the end of the path that runs through the settlement. Click on your night vision once you're inside, and move forward. battling the enemies ahead. Again, a mixture of sniping and traditional combat works well here; the circular structure in the center of the area is a good sniper's spot.
Move out of the settlement and ahead along the path. Look for the two huge indigenous creatures up ahead, destroying some unlucky Covenant troops. The beats will come your way shortly. They're strong, but they can be killed. Further on, you'll come to a base, where some local militia are battling it out with the Covenant. Assist them in their fight, eliminating all enemies. After a brief conversation with the militia, another drop ship will unload more enemies. Grab one of the stolen scoped rifles the militia show you, and get to work taking out the Covenant. While the Phantom is present, watch out for the powerful cannons it uses to cover the troops' landing. One more drop ship will arrive. Take out its cargo, then head up the dry river bed the militia used to smuggle contraband.
When you come to the huge enemy antenna, eliminate the enemies guarding it. Make your way through the base, snuffing out any resistance, until Jin considers it safe to plant the explosive charge on the antenna. If this base seemed a little too easy, don't worry: it's not quite over yet. You need to defend Jin--and, to a lesser extent, the militia soldiers with you--from an attack by two Hunters, dropped off by another troop ship. The Hunters will come steadily toward Jin as he's planting his charge, unless they're distracted by firing on another target (i.e., you). Take out the Hunters before they reach Jin's position. The key here is to constantly change your position. The Hunters won't target you until you attack, so make the most of your free hit. After that, they'll attack whenever they see you, but will lose interest and go back to advancing on Jin if you stay hidden for a little while. Stick and move, stick and move, hitting the Hunters' vulnerable necks and lower backs. The scoped gun you got from the militia is handy here, as it allows accurate firing from a distance, and does a respectable amount of damage. Alternately, you can try using the turrets on top of the antenna, but you'll have to be prepared to move instantly, since you're vulnerable to the Huinters' one-hit-kill guns if you remain stationary.
After defending Jin, head to the next, and final, battle of the mission. After going through the large gate blocking the path--Kat will forward the security code to Jin--make your way forward, battling the Covenant in their entrenched positions. Some are roaming free, some are on turrets. You need to flank around to the sides of the batteries, picking off their gunners; a frontal assault, in the face of their withering fire, is suicide. There are several batteries, and several groups of enemies out in the open. Once you're through them all, you're done with the chapter.

Mission 05 - On the Tip of the Spear
With Kat, fight your way slowly forward against the large contingent of enemies, in order to clear a landing spot. You want to take your time with this; running forward without regard to cover will usually get you put down hard. The enemies here have good weapons, and there are a couple turrets a little ways ahead. Luckily, you'll start out equipped with a grenade launcher. Don't waste its valuable ammo on lesser, lone enemies; switch to your other gun to take them out, and back to the grenade launcher to deal with tougher and/or more tightly packed enemies. Work your way patiently forward, dealing with the turrets as you reach them. When the area is reasonably clear, a friendly ship will drop off a Rocket Hog (a Warthog with twin mounted rocket launchers) for you to use. There may still be a few scattered enemies around; clean them up, then drive forward.
Up ahead, you'll have to knock out the huge Covenant AA gun, which is keeping your air support at bay. There are plenty of enemies guarding the gun, but the Rocket Hog should make short work of them. It's useless on the exterior of the gun itself, though, so you'll have to get inside to knock out the fuel source. There's a hatch around the back of the gun, but you can't fire directly in on the fuel source from outside. Get out, take out the fuel source--marked on your screen, within its own little chamber--then get out of the area before your bombers arrive.
Head out along the path on the right, past the AA gun, in the Rocket Hog. Up ahead is an enemy tank; deal with it, then drive up the small hill it was on, and follow the path there across a bridge. There's a small group of enemies along the path, nothing very dangerous. Ahead is a large mining facility, where a battle is already underway. Jump right in, using the Rocket Hog to decimate the enemies on the far side of the bridge. You can plow right through the barricades on the bridge to reach the other side, but when all the enemies are down, you have to go inside the building, which means that the Rocket Hog party is over.
Fight your way up the steps and into the mining facility. Battle the enemies in your path. Look for a Holographic Decoy armor ability ahead. Keep fighting, through the first building, into the second, and down to the ground floor. Look for a Plasma Cannon down there, and use it on the vehicles trying to escape just outside. Pursue them down the path if they slip by you; you have to go this way anyway. There are more enemies ahead; use the Plasma Cannon until it runs out of juice, then keep banging away with whatever other gun you have. Continue on down the path.
Up ahead is another AA gun that needs to get taken out. This one is significantly more heavily guarded than the last. The path forks to curve around the hill on which the gun sits. Take the right-hand path. Down the three enemies up ahead, then advance, carefully. Make sure to grab the fresh Plasma Cannon, and a Needle Rifle, from the weapons racks ahead. Just beyond is a tank, which you'll need to destroy before advancing any further. The Plasma Cannon is your best bet here. There are also a lot of scattered enemies in the area; take them out as the opportunity presents itself. Guarding the path leading up to the gun are two Hunters. Because of the narrow choke point at which the Hunters sit, it's almost impossible to get a good solid shot at their vulnerable backs. The best way to deal with them is to avoid them for now. Try to distract them, with either your partner of a Holographic Decoy. When their attention is fully diverted, run up the path. Jump up to the hilltop by the first available rocks on the left. Once on top, take out the AA gun, in the same manner in which you dealt with the last one. After it's down, some friendly troops will drop in immediately. With the Hunters' attention now fixed securely on these other targets, and you positioned safely behind them, taking them out should be no problem.
Hop into the Falcon that lands nearby, and man the rocket launcher. Get ready to use it on the Covenant forces on the ground up ahead. The first group is on the bridge; after that, they're spread pretty solidly along the canyon. Watch out for tanks; prioritize these. Knock down all the enemies as you fly slowly along. The ride isn't long; when the pilot decides to fly into the shield projected by the Covenant Spire, it's landing time, whether he likes it or not.
After your early landing, grab the Jet Pack ability just ahead. There are also a few health packs scattered around. Head forward with Jorge, fighting the enemies in your way. Watch out for the snipers with Focus Rifles on the high ground. Once you've taken them out and advanced this far, you'll want to snap up one of these bad boys for yourself. You can use the Jet Pack to reach the high rocks along the way, but keep in mind, this exposes you to more fire, especially from the snipers, in addition to providing you with better angles of view. Keep moving until you reach the drop-off, and get the go-ahead to take out the Spire. Then, head down the path. There's a truck you can drive forward if you want, but you don't have far to go. When you get to the base of the Spire, watch for enemies. Destroy or avoid them, and run inside. Look for one of the energy beams leading upward, and ride it to the top. Once at the top of the Spire, fight off the enemies there, including an Elite (the Focus Rifle will eliminate even him in seconds). Then just find the console, and shut down the shield protecting the Spire. The following cutscene will end the mission, with a bang.

Mission 06 - Long Night of Solace
After the short opening cutscene, move up the beach, toward the facility housing the Sabre space fighter. You'll run into enemies shortly, and more will continue to rain down as you go. Use the rocks as cover, and advance as you can, wiping out the Covenant forces in front of you. The military here are in the midst of getting whupped by the invading Covenant, who are seeking to destroy the project, knowing how dangerous it could be. Fight your way to the facility, and get inside. After a brief chance to catch your breath in the control room overlooking the rocket, head out the door on the right, climb the stairs, and hop aboard the Sabre.
After launch, follow the prompts on the screen to learn how to pilot the Sabre. No sooner are you up to speed than the enemy appears. Defend the space station from the waves of Covenant ships attacking it. The first few waves are small, with first Banshees, then Seraphs appearing. Remember to use your cannon on the Seraphs before taking them out with missiles (or just hammering away with the cannon). Keep the ships at bay long enough for the station to get its defense systems back online. Once the station's turrets start blasting away, stay out of their line of fire while engaging the Covenant ships. Watch for a group of Phantoms to appear. They're slow, and they present large targets, but it doesn't pay to mess around with them; they can take a pounding, and their weapons are strong. Pump missiles into them, taking evasive action when it's called for. Fight off the last of the Covenant ships, then approach the station's docking bay to land.
When the Covenant corvette appears, fight your way toward it through the fighters. Stay clear of both the corvette's turrets, and the friendly ship's batteries; when you're falling helplessly through space after your ship is blown to scraps, you won't care much who did it. When you get the order, destroy the ship's engines to prevent its escape; one round of missiles for each engine should do the trick. After the engines are disabled, fight another wave of Seraphs. When ordered, head to the indicated spot on the corvette's back to land. Then drop down into the ship through the glowing energy shield. You may see some Covenant resistance before you even get a chance to board. Deal with it, then descend.
It's useful to land on the thin walkway just below the level of the energy shield, since this will give you good lines of sight on the enemies below. Fight the Covenant forces in the large chamber, then destroy the comm array for good. When you get the signal to advance, head for the door indicated by the waypoint. there are enemies just on the other side, so be ready. Push forward, eliminating Covenant resistance as you go. Soon you'll come to a large room, swarming with shielded, heavily armed enemies. Wipe them out. You can shoot the glowing blue cubes scattered around the room to make them explode. You'll probably notice right away that your jumping ability is greatly enhanced, due to the low gravity in here. This is both a blessing and a curse, since jumping high up can give you good firing angles, but can also expose you to enemy fire. Use this feature judiciously. When the room's cleared out, get to the shield controls, and deactivate them.
Check the ground next to the ramp on the way to your next destination for a health pack, ammo and grenades, then battle the Covenant troops attacking through the doorway ahead. Move through the hallways, into the ship's bridge. You should get the first shot at the unsuspecting enemies; use it wisely. These guys aren't messing around. Watch for those with cloaking shields. Wipe out the enemies here, then find and activate the controls to get the corvette moving toward the Covenant super-carrier. Then turn and head back to the hangar. More enemies will try to stop you; stop them instead. Back in the hangar, help Jorge defend the troop ship with the bomb on it. Enemies will come in waves from the doors spread around the room. Make sure to stock up on ammo and health from the supply by the ramp, or the one behind the troop ship. Also, choose some guns from the fine selection back there. Fight off the waves of Covenant forces until Jorge gives you the word, then regroup with him by the troop ship. Your reward: losing the coolest member of Noble Squad, and getting heaved out of a moving ship into space. Congratulations.

Mission 07 - Exodus
After crash landing in the outskirts of New Alexandria and intercepting a UNSC communication, move through the battle-ravaged city in an effort to link up with the friendly forces. You'll run into your first of many enemies after cutting through the building and moving upstairs. Head through the door at the top of the stairs, and move forward. Watch out for suicide Grunts. Switch on your night vision as you move into the darkened building. You may also want to grab the Armor Lock. There are lots more Grunts ahead; take them out before they blow, or let them take themselves, and each other, out for you. Keep moving forward, and fight a few other enemies at the top of a set of stairs.
Outside, switch off your night vision, and help the military and civilians fend off the Covenant attack underway. You'll start running into Brutes here, so grab one of their guns as soon as you can. When the area's clear, head to the elevator controls, and activate it. You'll have to wait for the elevator, and fend off enemies as you do. The Brutes and lesser enemies come through the doorway on the left. Some Brutes wield Gravity Hammers, which means two things: you're in danger of having your brains liquefied if you get too close, and you get to use a Gravity Hammer if you survive. Take down the enemies, and hop on the elevator when it arrives. Activate the elevator and ride it.
After getting off the elevator, prepare for a fight. Enemies are massed up ahead, across a metal staircase. This is a major engagement, with Brutes and Grunts in great numbers. Wipe them out, and advance steadily. Follow the long series of staircases upward, taking out enemies as you go. When you reach the high room with the balconies at each level, use your Jet Pack to reach the top level, and head out the door there. Ahead, the battle continues to rage. You need to work your way up by the series of staircases and balconies that line this outside area. Enemies continue to not mess around. Watch for grenades, rocket launchers, Focus Rifles, and more. Fight through it; keep moving, at whatever pace you can manage. When you reach the vicinity of the landing pad, clear it of enemies. Watch for the turrets outside on the pad itself. Get the best gun for the job, and take them out. Some of the Brutes here sport rocket launchers, which could do the trick.
When the landing pad's been cleared and the Falcons arrive, climb aboard one of them. You'll have control of the mini-gun, and you can fire on the various enemies you'll see from a distance throughout the course of your flight, but you can't stop the disaster in progress in the city of New Alexandria. When you land, you'll be sent forward to activate a couple of missile batteries, so they can be used to knock down the Covenant corvette hovering in orbit above the city, blocking the escape of civilian transports. There's a Warthog in the area if you want to drive. Up ahead is a Ghost; this is a good opportunity to take control of the vehicle, and use it against the enemies up ahead. Clear out the area around the first missile battery, and get the thing going. Then head toward the second battery, taking out the Covenant forces in your path. Get the second battery rolling, then head to the control center, and push the button there. Once the corvette's down and the civilian transports escape, your mission is over.

Mission 08 - New Alexandria
After beginning the mission on the heliport, jump in the cockpit of the Falcon, and head for the hospital, off to the right. You'll have to fight off multiple Covenant Banshees along the way. Use the Falcon's forward machine guns. Use Left Trigger to gain altitude; when you let go, the Falcon will lower automatically. Press Right Button to lock your altitude, allowing you to keep a steady height. Fight off the Banshees, and land at the hospital. Hop out, and go inside.
Battle the Covenant forces inside the hospital. Make your way across the room, and down the series of staircases. The ground floor is swarming with Grunts. Don't let them overwhelm you; pick off as many as you can from above, thinning their numbers. If possible, eliminate their Elite. After clearing the lobby, head deeper into the hospital. Be ready for a group of Brutes as you make your way to the left. At the end of the hallway, link up with other military forces. Take out the Engineer, then destroy the jammer. Be ready for a wave of Covenant troops equipped with Jet Packs to storm your position. After eliminating them, make your way back up the hallway. There are a few more enemies in the lobby. Drop them, and head back up to the landing pad.
Get back in your Falcon and take off. Fight off the Banshees swarming around the city. When you get the word, head over to the waypoint. The Elites and Engineers you're looking for are plainly visible on the roof of the marked building. Strafe them, being sure to eliminate every single one. Once they are taken care of, you'll get a message to proceed to another building. Head over, destroying any Banshees or turrets that get in your way. Land at the helipad hop out, and head inside. Wipe out the large numbers of Covenant troops in your path. The Prudes in this building use Armorer Lock, so don't waste your ammo firing on them when they're invulnerable. Make your way up the stairs to the elevator, jump in, and enjoy the muzak as you ride up to the next floor, if you're beat up, look for health stations on either side of the door. There is also a Armor Lock Shield ability off to the right. Head in that direction, and find the jammer up ahead. Destroy it, and be ready for a flight of Drones to attack. Get back to the elevator, and ride it back down. Get back to your Falcon; you're needed elsewhere.
Get back in your Falcon, and fly to the next waypoint. This building is under attack by Banshees; destroy them. When the first three are down, more may arise. Defend the building for as long as necessary. When you get the all clear, then receive another distress call, head for the next waypoint. Take out the enemies on the rooftop, land, and pick off the remaining Covenant troops. Watch out for gun emplacements. When the rooftop is clear, head through the doors at the far side. There are two Hunters inside, right next to the jammer. You can fight them if you want, but without a partner, this is a daunting task. You just need to deactivate the jammer, then get the hell out of there, in order to move on. The Hunters won't see you at first, so use this time to get as close to the jammer as you can. Deactivated, then run for it.
Next you'll need to take the Falcon over to the evacuation zone, and take out some Shade antiaircraft batteries which are holding up the evacuation. Take them out, fighting off any Banshees that appear. Keep shooting until every Shade is destroyed. When you get the signal, set down on the landing pad of the Olympic Tower. The cutscene that follows will end this mission, and will cost you another member of Noble.

Mission 09 - The Package
In order for what remains of Noble Squad to reach of the area, you'll first need to take out to enemy antiaircraft guns. The guns are heavily guarded by Covenant troops, vehicles, and turrets. Your best bet is to grab a vehicle of your own, and use it against them. You can destroy the towers, taking out any enemies on them. Fight your way forward, dropping troops, destroying turrets, and taking out or commandeering vehicles. Look for a vacant Revenant that you can use. When you reach the guns, which are close together, take out the enemies guarding the first, or at least, any that you can see from outside. When the area is as clear as possible, get out, and go inside the base of the gun. There may be more enemies waiting inside; take them out, then destroy the fuel cell to take out the gun. Do the same with the second gun.
Head toward the heavily occupied Sword base. The Covenant has made the base into a stronghold, and it's crawling with vehicles, turrets, and ground troops. Stay in your vehicle; a lone soldier with no real protection doesn't stand much of a chance against enemies of this magnitude. If your vehicle gets destroyed, or you get thrown out of it, find another one quick. You need to make it into Sward base, but hatchway isn't open yet. While Noble Squad works on opening it, your main task is to stay alive. This will mean taking out a few enemies, but remember, the point is to survive, not to destroy everything in sight. Three Banshees will attack as soon as you near Sword. Take them out, or just drive past them. There are more dangerous enemies ahead. Several Revenants patrol the approach to Sword. More dangerous still are the turrets surrounding the area. These will rip your vehicle to shreds in seconds if you give them the chance. While fighting enemy vehicles, be aware of the positions of the surrounding turrets. If you start to take fire, you have three choices: destroy the turret, get to cover, or explode.
When you get the word that the hatches open, head straight for the waypoint. You'll have to get past another Revenant in order to make it into Sword. There are a few enemies on foot within the base. After your ordeal outside, they should be no problem. Mold them down, and take the Revenant as far as you can before hopping out, going inside, and rejoining Noble. With the remnants of your squad behind you, take point, and push forward into Sword. If you need help, look to the corpse on the ground just to the right of the door you need to go through. Just ahead are several armor abilities. Battle the large concentration of Covenant forces in the next room. Make your way up the stairways, taking out any enemies in your way. Search the first floor for your chance to get your hands on an Energy Sword. When you reach the top of the stairs, wait until you get your waypoint, then go through the indicated door. Take out the cloaked Elites in the next area. Watch for an Engineer to appear at the end of the room. When the room's clear, head up the stairs on the right and into the room beyond. Follow your waypoint forward, and activate the door up ahead.
After the cut scene, run around the area, activating the four automatic defensive turrets. Though these gun emplacements will assist you in fighting off the waves of Covenant forces on their way, you'll still need to take an active hand in the battle. Also, the turrets will shut down once they've taken too much damage. You'll have to manually activate them again. There are several Mongooses on the right side of the platform in front of the lab you need to defend. Use these, if you'd like, to reach the turrets faster. Since the Mongooses have no guns or armor, they are less than ideal combat vehicles. On the other side of the platform, look for a rocket launcher. There are health stations on the wall behind you. Hold off the Covenant forces. When the turrets go off-line---their remaining energy is indicated by the bars in the lower right-hand corner of the screen---get out there and reactivate them. You'll need them to fend off the increasingly dangerous Covenant attacks. Keep firing away with everything you've got. Expect to see plenty of Brutes and Elites as the battle goes on. The last wave will include a dropship, which will pound your position. Withstand the attacks, then open the door via the control panel on the left when you've held out long enough.

Mission 10 - The Pillar of Autumn
You must deliver the all-important package to the Pillar of Autumn. After Carter drops you off, run along the canyon with Emile, then down the mountain along the path on the right. Covenant forces wait below, on the bridge and surrounding ground. Take them out. Check the building on the right for a health pack if you need it. Then climb onto one of the Mongooses past the bridge, and continue along the path. Covenant troops will drop down around you as you go; you can stop and fight them, but your main task is to get the package safely to its destination, so feel free to race right by them. Carry some speed with you as you approach the gap in the bridge ahead, and jump it. Up ahead, the road is blocked, and you'll have to get out and fight. Check the building on the right for supplies (health, guns, armor abilities), then engage the dense assemblage of Covenant beyond the roadblock. You can return to the building if you need to, via the broken section of fence on the far right. There's a tower on the right of the area; take out the enemies at the top. Just beyond is a Wraith. You don't necessarily need to destroy the tank, just get past it. The path toward the caves is beyond the Wraith, more toward the left side. Get to the path, and move forward. Watch for suicide Grunts ahead. Move through the caves. In the cutscene that follows, say hello to a Covenant Scarab, and goodbye to Carter.
The caves ahead are populated by swarms of Drones, and, beyond them, some Skirmishers. Once you emerge from the caves, you'll need to join in the large battle raging below, on the outskirts of the dry-docks facilities where the Pillar of Autumn is preparing to depart. Fight your way across the yard, into the next section. There, continue the battle. Watch out for the line of turrets guarding the entrance to the building you need to get to. You don't need to destroy everything out here; just make it to your waypoint, inside the building. From there, move through the building, battling strong resistance. Keep pressing forward, into another building. There are two Hunters up ahead, and you'll have to take them out--alone--to advance. If you can get one into the narrow lane formed by the containers on the far left of the area, you should be able to score some good hits on its back by running around and hitting it from behind while it's facing the other direction. Find a way to take these monsters out. When they're down, the door in the far right corner will open, allowing you to advance. UNSC troops are waiting inside; feel free to give them a sarcastic thank you for their help with the Hunters.
Move through the building, taking out the Grunts and Elites in your path. Upon emerging, you need to clear the landing pad for the shuttle the Pillar will send down to retrieve the package. Easier said than done, as Covenant dropships send wave after wave of heavily armed and armored troops down to stop you. Cut them down however you can. There's a sniper rifle in the building to your left. On the floor below is your main supply store, with health packs and guns. Battle the waves of Covenant troops, grabbing good weapons when you get the chance. Destroy them all. The package must escape Reach, at all costs.
Once the landing pad is clear, the shuttle will descend. Still, your mission is not quite over. After Emile joins the rest of Nobble Squad, it's your turn to man the big gun at the top of the building. Head inside, up the stairs, and out to the gun. A whole squad of Elites stands in your way. Fight through them to reach the gun, and man it. You can't destroy the Covenant cruiser while its shields are up; you must wait for it to arm its main weapon, leaving it vulnerable. In the meantime, destroy the flights and flights of Phantoms hovering in front of the gun, before they destroy you. As soon as you get the word, point the gun at the cruiser's exposed area--marked by the red circle--and fire. The Pillar can now escape, keeping hope alive for humanity, and leaving you to find your destiny on Reach.
Stick around after the credits to see the end of the story.

3. Unlockables and Easter Eggs
Easter Egg: Master Chief Cameo
Upon completing the final level (The Pillar of Autumn), you will see a cut-scene of the ship taking off. When the cut-scene starts, hold your aiming stick (it will be dependent on your control scheme) so that you would "turn right" normally.
At the point when the UNSC shuttle docks at the Pillar of Autumn's landing bay, the camera will move to the right (if you were holding the stick to aim right) and catch a shot of a Spartan in a capsule. Should look familiar, right?

Easter Egg: Change Club Errera's Music and Brute Dance Party
In Mission 7, you can change the music to the tracks "Never Surrender" and "Siege of Madrigal" in Club Errera. During Mission 7, once you get to the Club Errera part of the mission, head back to the hospital. Fly to a ledge below the usual entrance. If you chose the right one, when you get out you should see a green light. Once found, activate it and go back to Club Errera. Land and when you walk in the song "Never Surrender" will be playing. If you want to change the music again, go back to your Falcon and fly to the roof of Club Errera. Guess what, there's another switch. Activate it and the song "Siege of Madrigal" will now be playing. -- Thanks, Dexter
Note: If you return to the dance club after you clear it out (Hunters included) then a Brute DJ will be spinning records, a Brute tends the bar and Grunts get freaky.
