Well, i haven't used internet explorer 9, but yes google chrome is faster.

speed is nice in a browsers if it isnt at the cost of security/vulnerability, Chrome,firefox,safari are the most exploited browsers meaning they have been gone through the most and have more than enough info about them to easily hijack users that regularly use them on networks or through their web traffic.
