Nobody will/should hire you if you use Beats in your studio.
Just skip to 1:40. But let me guess, you know more then someone who is actually a famous rapper?
You really think they know the first thing about audio and that they weren't obviously sponsored by Monster/Beats Electronics? Hook, line, and sinker. Gotta hand it to that marketing team, they sure know how to dupe the masses.
I really don't care if they were sponsored. That's a studio, and they're using Beats.
There's not even anything to master, even if Beats were good for it. It's a stupid bassline and a crappy vocoded voice track with some effects.
I could pay a few rappers to use iBuds in a studio and pretend like they're making music. Would that make those good?
I don't think you could pay them enough to use iBuds. I've seen plently of artist in recording studios on youtube using beats, and I don't see them *****.
It doesn't matter what headphones I pay them to use. I could pay them to use any crap headphones like Beats and they wouldn't think twice. I can factually prove that Beats are terrible for production use.

Numbers don't lie. You have no argument because you can't refute facts. These are bad headphones for production, period. It's not even up for debate because it's not a matter of opinion. Whether they're good for simple music enjoyment is another story, but cheaper headphones still run circles around them. If you'd like more evidence or testimonies from sources well-known in the headphone world, I can get them for you.[/spoil]
Do you think these rappers care about numbers? Only thing they care about is how good it sounds, aka "real world usage."
Rappers using them > Random people on TTG posting charts.
Denying facts backed up by measurements and graphs?
&@%# logic.
You lost every iota of credibility of what little you had left with that post. I guess the pros are idiots for using the Sennheiser HD800 to pick out details in their recordings. I mean, you don't see Soulja Boy rocking those, do you? Nah, they're definitely idiots.
If you're trolling, you done good. I can always pick up on headphone trolls after all my experience, but you may have gotten me.
EDIT: One thing you'll pick up on immediately in the world of consumer tech is that popularity has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the product.[/spoil]
You're too sensitive, calm down. No one is denying those graphs or saying people are idiots for using Sennheiser, use your reading comprehension skills and stop making assumptions.
When people go and buy headphones I seriously doubt they ask for those charts you posted. They put on each headphone and listen to a song to see which one sounds the best to them. And if beats sound good to people, guess what?
There isn't **** you can do about it.
Yeah there is. I can show them good headphones they like more for half the price.
Or I could let them make a bad decision. It's their decision and if they don't want my help, so be it. I don't care, I just like helping people. What you were/are doing is spreading misinformation, and that's not something I'm going to ignore. Call me what you will, I don't care. People choose to trust me to recommend the best headphone for them and I deliver and they're happy. I know exactly how I sound when I say this, but when people trust decisions like this to people who know their stuff, everyone's happier in the end. I'm not saying their opinions are not valid, but I take their opinions into consideration and direct them to something better based on them.

I'm spreading misinformation because I tell someone to buy beats? Lol, nice thread, but that thread won't make me think anymore highly or less then you than what I already do.
That's not the point I'm getting at. What I'm getting at is that you're saying that Beats are a good choice. That's just not true.
They are a good choice if you're coming from standard ipod headsets.
Tell me I'm wrong.
You are wrong. Of course they'll sound better but instead of the Pro you should get good headphones that are similar and in every way better. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Saying something is better than iBuds is not saying much. You can pay $7 and get much better quality. Why pay $400 for an upgrade when you can pay much less for a better upgrade?[/spoil]
I use to give advice on custom computer builds and make pc builds for other people on other forums.
Sometimes people would come to me and say "I'm scared to build my own computer, can you recommend a good prebuilt computer." And I would tell them they would be better off building their own, but if they want to buy a prebuilt one, I would suggest them one.
The OP didn't make this thread to ask for advice on what what headphones he should buy(well he kinda did but eh..)leave the headphone advice in your thread.
Hmmmm... Nah, don't think I will.
If I don't feel like I can make a good recommendation, I won't make one. I don't call prebuilt PCs or cheap laptops good recommendations unless it's a task-critical workstation machine. Nor will I recommend bad headphones. I could talk all day about this, but it's irrelevant to this thread.
My knowledge on computers most likely vastly outclasses yours. So I don't care what you would call a bad recommendation. But if the person has their heart set on a prebuilt computer then I will recommend one to them.
Good thing you don't do this for money. If you did, you would be fired pretty fast.

But my statement still stands.

I don't like white. It gets stained so I would go with black if those are the 2 options.

The point is that they don't even compare to similarly-priced headphones. Stack them up against headphones like the Logitech UE 9000, V-Moda M100, Ultrasone Pro 900, Sony Z1000, AKG K551, Sennheiser Amperior, Audio Technica ES10, and Beyerdynamic DT 1350 that are priced similarly and you'll see how inferior they are. If the only qualifier is that they're better than iBuds, you can spend $10 on a pair of Koss KSC75s for something much, much better. I'd expect that someone with a grasp of PC hardware would understand something like this. You're that guy recommending a 550 Ti and FX 4100 right now because they look good to the untrained eye.
EDIT: Wrong topic for the part about the $100 headphones.

Tyll nailed it. They just don't sound as good as similarly-priced headphones. If you're looking to drop about $100, the V-Moda LP and AKG K181DJ are much better alternatives.
No one is saying they sound as good as similar priced headphones. There are much better options, but I honestly can't think of any headphone as popular with teenagers as beats are. And if he is buying them to fit in with the crowd and sacrifice sound quality, then it's his choice.

And I I'm not telling people how music should sound, I'm telling them that beats suck, which they really do. Graphs show facts, facts that show how terrible sound quality is of beats.
Graphs also show that beats would be an upgrade from the standard iPod headsets.

I seem to be under the false impression that people buy headphones to listen to them, not use them as a fashion accessory. If this is true, OP's got bigger problems than the color of his headphones.

Even if you're buying headphones for looks, there are better options. V-Moda cans are a perfect example. Audiophiles and normal people looking for a fashion statement are all over them.

It's the entire premise of our thread.[/spoil]

Ahh so r00t also gives people advice on computers. I went through some of his post, he seems to know the basics. And he seems to know enough to make the people on here think he's a computer genius.
But my statement still stands.
Edit: Root is basically like the skinniest kid at fat camp.[/spoil]
Alright then mate, you keep telling yourself that...
And I I'm not telling people how music should sound, I'm telling them that beats suck, which they really do. Graphs show facts, facts that show how terrible sound quality is of beats.
Graphs also show that beats would be an upgrade from the standard iPod headsets.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
I seem to be under the false impression that people buy headphones to listen to them, not use them as a fashion accessory. If this is true, OP's got bigger problems than the color of his headphones.[/spoil]
Am I being trolled right now or do you not leave your house? Why else do you think Beats are so popular?
I wasn't born yesterday. I know why people buy Beats. I also know that those people much happier with the good headphones I recommend for them. They love the Aiaiai TMA-1, Ultrasone Pro 900, and Audio Technica Pro 700 MkIIs they buy at my recommendation.
Even if you're buying headphones for looks, there are better options. V-Moda cans are a perfect example. Audiophiles and normal people looking for a fashion statement are all over them.
Not V-Moda but: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Beautiful. I get way more attention with my pair than my friends do with their Beats. You'd almost think I bought them for the looks!
Looks are subjective, so I don't know how you can say there are "better" options. What looks good to you may not look good to someone else.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The fact that a few rappers use them in a studio in a video commissioned by Beats means nothing.
A few rappers using them means more than some random people on TTG.

&@%# logic.

I agree, that's why the ones I've mentioned aren't the only good-looking headphones I recommend.

Ahhh, I could go on forever. There are all kinds of great-looking headphones. I always take looks into consideration when I recommend products. If somebody doesn't like how the ones I suggest look, they tell me and I show them some alternatives.
EDIT: Done posting. I'm pretty sure the better options have been clearly presented and proven at this point.
