You should get the PS3.
I have a Xbox 360 and a Wii, but I'm getting a PS3 as well.
I honestly do not see why Xbox players are paying $5 a month for online multiplayer. The online multiplayer on the PS3 is the same as Xbox. (I play PS3 online at someone's house many times and enjoyed it a lot)
Not to mention you have to have Gold to access Netflix, Hulu Plus, ESPN, Internet Explorer, and other apps, etc..
And to add more you have pay for Netflix and Hulu Plus subscription as well! With PS3 and Wii all you have to do is pay the subscriptions and you can access it. No "Gold"/premium membership required.
Also the PS3's and Wii's browser are completely free. I mean come on now, Internet Explorer and other browsers are free on the PC, so I doubt the Xbox's browser is better than the PS3, Wii, and PC's browsers. So why do you need Gold to access Internet Explorer?
Microsoft basically makes it required for you to have Gold if you hook up your Xbox online. The only thing you can really do is Private Chat and play solo on a Silver account. I remember the times when my Gold ran out. Was just like having no Internet running through the Xbox at all.
Party Chat was good, but I did not think it was $60 a year good. I felt like throwing money away because the only thing I ever did was Party Chat and online gaming. I could do the same thing on the PS3, but just talk in game instead.
Not to mention I had to get my Xbox replaced like 4-5 times because of hardware failures, disc read errors, and Red Ring of Deaths. Failure rate is decreased in the Slims now, but still that is just sad.

Some other benefits of a ps3 would include never having to buy AA batteries again!
No more having to she'll out for ms points to buy dlc etc. psn's wallet system IMO is a 1000x better than microsofts points system.
Also it's not just the fact you have to have gold (5pounds a month) to play online, you HAVE to have a credit card on your account. And unless you call Microsoft to have it removed you can't get rid of it. Even if you don't set auto renew to on they take the money anyways.
The graphics on some of the ps3 games are unbelievable.
And as everyone knows hd DVD is obviously far more superior than blu ray lol. No more having to stop playing max Payne or la noire halfway through to swap a disc because luckily for playstation, unlike Microsoft they aren't a bunch of doomers and understand that technology needs to advance and not go backwards.
All the Xbox has going for it now (again just my opinion) is that they decided to start clutching as straws and make deals with multiple developers to get all the dlc ahead of other platforms. If getting call of duty maps (which I have to pay for) a month before anyone else is going to cost 5quid a month, I'd sooner stick with original maps.. On my ps3!
