Heartwood wroteCajun wrote What type of website is that? But anyways... its kinda right. Look at the video games being made these days. GTA, Homefront, ETC..
It has already been proven that you need two things to commit a murder. The correct genes and a traumatic experience. Video games don't affect it, terrible parenting does. No clever parent would let their 10 year old play GTA.
What do you mean by the correct genes? Like I know a traumatic experience could drive someone into killing people but how do genes come into affect I don't understand that.

It's not video games that cause this stuff, it's the people. There is millions of people who play video games but you don't see all of the gamers going round shooting kids. The person was a psycho. RIP to all those who died.

There is a certain gene a human has to have, part of our DNA the depicts whether "we have it in us" to kill someone. Basically that part of our brain that tells us to do it. Not everyone has it. It was a scientific research done that was shown on a programme on Channel 4 in the UK or something.

FOX news and everyone who thinks video games were the sole purpose of this occurring, are idiots. What about Ted Bundy in the 70's? He must have played a lot of bad video games :/

It's all about blame !.
If it wasn't games it would be tv and films that would get the blame and if there was no tv or films it would be books they would blame.
It's a simple case of shifting the blame from society and it's faults.
As for it being the fault of the gun well ,would they put laws into effect if this man had used a knife or an axe ?? ..,No i don't think so.
RIP ..,For all that fell foul to this mad man.

Pure ignorance. Soldiers can go overseas and kill real people without becoming homicidal sociopaths. If you can't handle playing a game without becoming one, something was mentally wrong with you long before you played video games. If you are that mentally unstable, something was bound to set you off regardless. Before they blamed it on games, they blamed it on movies. Remember, Hinckley shot Reagan in '81 to impress Jodi Foster after watching the Robert DeNiro hit "Taxi Driver" yet that movie in no way glorified a Presidential assassination attempt. Hinckley was mentally insane. He would have found a reason to flip his lid somewhere, even had he not seen the movie. Should they have blamed the movie and banned it from theaters? No, it was obviously a case of mental instability in an individual. Several killers and sociopaths have claimed that they found inspiration within the pages of "The Catcher in the Rye" yet the book in no way gloried murder. Should we have an old fashioned book burning? Of course not, Everyone needs to think logically and use a bit of common sense. The issue isn't that we need to police games and movies and limit creative expression. It is that we need to offer (in some case even enforce) better care and treatment for the mentally unstable.

I play video games so i can shoot people in there instead of real life, video games is an outlet to get rid of violence, not what causes is, unless you're stupid.
