Hi guys,

i have just successfully completed my first PC build.

SPECS

i7 2700K
16GB Corsair Vengeance (Photo Editing/Rendering)
120GB Kingston Hyper X 3K
2TB x2 Seagate
MSI MPOWER Z77
Corsair GSv2 800w (Overkill I Know)
CM 690 II Black & White

- No after-market cooling configuration rendering the unlocked CPU's main purpose useless.

- Stupidly tall RAM with heatsinks that are pointless besides aesthetics.

- Kingston SSD over more reliable and consistent Intel 330/520, Crucial M4, 840 pro, or certain Plextor drives.

- Ridiculously priced MOBO that won't get used.

- As you said yourself, overkill. It's actually less efficient. More watts =/= more better. This entire build including a video card can and should be run off of a 550w / 650w unit...something along the lines of the HIVE series from Rosewill which offer superb bang for your buck.

It's not necessarily a bad build but you could of gotten a lot more suitable parts for your dollar.

its an okay build id give it a 5/10
