From my head...I am guessing this costs 350-400 GBP

Also the Intel HD Family are not good. They are integrated chipsets and is not called a graphics card.

From EXPERIENCE you will get around 30-60 FPS on short to Normal with everything else on low.

Also it only has 2 Gb's of RAM.

If your budget is 350-400 GBP... GET THIS WHILE YOU CAN!

EDIT- Hard Drive speed is slow. Look for 7200RPM and NOT 5400RPM

410 USD = 253.59 GBP

Which is pretty bad budget for a Laptop.

These 2 are the best I could come up with-

EDIT: You could also just install Windows 7

The intel HD 4000 is good - for integrated graphics. However, the i3 380 has standard HD graphics which is terrible. There is no way he'd be able to get 60FPS on minecraft!

Acer. OMG. Terrible, full of problems. They're just as bad as HP. Windows 8 SUCKS! Big time.

Then pirate windows 7 and do a fresh install. You might be able to trade product keys with someone!

It could, but not for very long as the laptop would break after a year. I bought a HP 1 year ago for 289.99 GBP on amazon. I needed a cheap laptop quick. I've since spent 310 quid on repairs, and it's just gone faulty again. All this happened 4 days after the end of the warranty.
