Hey guys, today i'd like to share with you my Major Project for my Design and Technology class.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

(this is a simplified version of it, basic design)
I give to you the ICEcubed, or iCE3 for short. What it is , is a portable, external, liquid-cooling box that the Xbox is placed on top off.
The way it works is when heat is given off by the case, it is captured in the tubes of coolant.
Since the coolant is 20x more thermally conductive than air, it keeps the console cooler than the internal fan.

I am still in the design process, or alpha stage, at the moment, and all ideas and feedback are welcome.

Seeing as this is my first kind of project like this (liquid-cooling) anyone's advice would be very welcome.

Also getting opinions and feedback is great for the portfolio side of the project.

Make sure to follow me on [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] for more progress:

Thanks guys.

That the same thing I was thinking, if is on the bottom of the console it would have to go trough the plastic shell, metal cage motherboard and last the heatsink

Exactly, that is the first major problem. You have to get the heat to the cooler in order to transfer it

Hey guys thanks for the feedback.

As for the project, it's not necessarily meant to cool the console down, but more to just make it not overheat as easily and as much. The tubes capture the heat given off by the bottom of the case, as I have noticed this gets pretty hot.
