Honestly, I would say it's becoming the reverse. More people are "accepting" of gay people than before. Personally, I've been raised to believe that these things are between a man and a woman, but gay people can do their thing, who am I to judge? It's kind of sad how some of these same people who hate on gays are the people who say judging people is bad, when they're doing that exact same thing when hating on gays.

I myself am American and a Christian, but I'm also bi. I use the word "f****t", but I never say it in an institutive manner. Yes, I realize it's an insulting word, but I only say it among friends. Which I know they never take it offensively anyways, the word is thrown back and forth between us. I have straight, gay, bisexual, pansexual and asexual friends. I don't care what gender you go after, if any at all, I respect you as long as you can respect me. When I get called out in a game, yes typically S&D, and get called "f*g" or anything like that, I just say "Yeah, is it a problem?". Of course to them it's a big issue and continue to insult, I just laugh at the stupidity and keep playing the game. Yes, I have a limit before I take offense, but they have to say a few more things before that hits.

I find that it's often used as an insult, but when the insulting people happen to meet a homosexual person, they are fine with them. Weird.

I'm personally not a homophobe and actually support them, but I think people just say it to say it. Most insults out of someone's mouth are usually things that they over hear and it just sticks. Why do you think so many people say "Yo momma!"? It's something that they heard someone say. It lacks originality and thought process, so they say it. Most people don't care about it's meaning. They just want to insult someone.

They don't say fgt just because try are homophobic, they say it because they don't have anything else to say. When my brother came home I wanted to play zombies with him, I had the mic, and he told me to say "they are flaming fgts and u slept with their mom, and no one likes them" he had no reason for wanting me to say it. His reason was "it's Xbox that's how people talk" and he has a valid point, no one has manners on Xbox.

Of course their not, i think everyone just says it they don't exactly aim it towards gay people..

Just an overused word which doesn't really mean anything to them when they say it
