I'd say it's more just like a general "ballpark" of when you're gonna get to the next rank. it's definitely not 100% accurate

your zombie rank is not all about KD. i have friends with 110 KD and they have shotguns with blue eyes. it is about the kills ans how high a round you can get to

I've heard that you can get them before 180 KD depending on your total kills and highest round etc, as my friend got the shotguns at 150 but his highest round was 66 (no round skip glitch to something insane)

I've also heard in the thread about ranking up somebody made a new account and got shotguns with 250 kd at 5k kills/20 downs so you can get them by having a really high kd and no milestones as well.

you can't get shotguns at that low kills without cheating. I had a 200 k/d and didn't get my knife until EXACTLY 10k kills (i ended the game at round 45) and i got the knife in the middle of it, when my record reached 10k kills.

I didn't get my shotguns until almost 20k kills (19.something thousand kills) and had a k/d of 169. The reason my k/d dropped so much was because i played one game of bus depot and got to round 33 in 3 players and got 35 downs.
