Marcelo is one of the best if not the best left back in the world. If you don't agree you could never ever have seen him play. Even my friends who likes Barcelona are saying that nobody can beat Marcelo in that position.

And Xabi Alonso is a tank. He can find anybody across the field really easy. His long passes are magical.

Why do you think there is only spanish players there? They are the best.
How many spanish teams are in the next round of CL 4/4, how many English? 2, or am I wrong?

Marcelo is by far the best LB in the world. And I agree that Pirlo could had took Xabis place, but he's the only one.

Pirlo for alonso
Alba for Marcelo

Pique for Kompany, Vidic Or Cheilenni

And Neymar should be in it...
