There really is no point in school, besides the fact that everyone wants to give you a job if you have high grades.
I'm in the 9th grade, I have a 2.9 GPA, and I think I'm doing fine. But, lately I've been thinking, what is the point of school?
At what point are we going to use all of this that we are learning? Do we NEED to know that Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879? Like say you're a waitress when you're grown, are we going to pull out a microscope and look at how many cells are in a cheeseburger?
We are always worried about the future, in every point in our lives. Now we worry about our adulthood. In our adulthood, we are worried about whatever comes next. I mean, why does everyone worry so much? Not to sound like the average kid of this generation, but live for the moment, have fun.
I hope this topic doesn't get flamed, I'm really interested in this topic.

I sometimes think this, yeah you need school to get grades and then advance further into education/a career, but I sometimes would like to live my life the way I want. That involves staying home/going out all day.

without school in this world you would probably not know how to type or even talk.. or know what 5x5 is and be a dumass for the rest of your life.. yah your probably some 13 year old hating on school because its everyday yah boo hoo but school pretty much makes you.. if you think about it they teach you how to respect respect others you learn. you find a JOB because of SCHOOL.

I would much rather suffer and worry about my future now and have it pay off later in my life than "live in the moment and have fun" when I'm really not even in chapter 2 of my life. Like in my opinion, I have my entire life to have fun, so why not work my ass off now and make an impression and have fun later?

I won't hate on you, because (although a stupid one to ask) it is a legitimate question. The reason to go to school is like many have said, to further yourself, and live a better life. If you want to skip school, be swagtastic (yes it's a word...I hope) and just hit a joint all day, I'm sure McDonalds will have openings when you graduate. I hope that is reason enough to understand the point of an education.
