bascially what i dont get with processor is that mine is an intel celeron 2.16Ghz (Ancient i know) but then when you look at more pricey ones it has a lower clock speed so is faster or slower than my processor

Core clock speeds on processors that are not the same means nothing. A 4.5ghz is going to out bench a 10 ghz AMD dual core since the architecture is so much better.

speed means almost nothing without good architecture in a processor. and newer intel processors have turbo boost technology that can increase clock speeds by 400-800 mhz. its like the talk of the wii u processor, it has slower clock speed but it is still better than both the xbox tri-core and the ps3's cell processor.
