Im not trying to be mean but why would you want to do this anyway isnt your computer screen smaller than your tv??

You could do it but you would have to buy a hd caputer card and there might be a second of lag

no basically I broke my TV... and I thought I could run my xbox on my laptop so I didn't have to fork out for a brand new TV ATM but oh well...

You don't exactly have to buy a new one. You can check ebay for any special deals (from trusted sellers) or even craigslist for people in your area. Just make sure you meet them somewhere if you go with craigslist.

I could do that but id rather have a new one because then I can rely on it more and trust it more... there must be a way of hooking it up to my laptop though for the time being?

Only way is with some sort of capture card. Easy cap will have the least input lag but will give you horrible quality and sound. Any hd capture card will have noticeable input lag.
