You can use Format Factory. If it's subbed then you might need use mkvtoolnix, megui, and yamb. Pretty sure that's all.
I just converted an anime to mp4 but completely forgot all the programs I used lol.

i don't usually like converting things though since it can sometimes mess with increasing file size and resolution. If i feel like I'll be watching it on my Xbox or a similar device, then i just look for a torrent in that format. MKVs play real nice on my rooted Nexus 7 anyways.
OP, if i remember correctly, the 8 series of the Samsung Smart Tv's has compatibility mainly through USB, but also HDMI. So either get the proper file types onto a flash drive or external HDD, or you can HDMI from your PC right into the TV, and drag MPC over to the TV since it acts as another monitor.

Plug the HDMI cable into both the port of the computer and the port on the TV. It should connect similar to how dual monitors work on a normal PC. From there, just grab the window from your PC and drag it over
