Season 3' isnt the last season, because in the comics it goes on after the governor'

Just to point it out within the tv show, it gets even more worse than the governor ;)

Season 4 has been confirmed, However the current Show runner Glenn Mazzara Is being replaced. We do not yet know who is replacing Him.

I think they will do at least 6 seasons, but they can do how many they want and end it however they want to. The Walking Dead is full of mysteries.
