I honestly will disagree. If a convict or robber wishes to break into your home, they aren't bringing a high capacity semi-auto rifle. They will have a small handgun, easy to dispose of, and cheap. This is why I believe there isn't really a logical use for US citizens to own Large Capacity magazines, or certain semi-auto rifle. Chances are, if you pull out a .45 on an intruder, they will turn tail and run. And, most of the people committing these mass murders are mentally deranged people. They are buying the guns legally, not on the black market. It's just my opinion.

Like i said in my other reply. It's not about the type of gun it's about the meaning of it. If the us ban's assault rifle's (Which they probally wont) Then it's just a small step to banning all of the gun's nation wide. Just like Hittler did, Make's me kinda scared.

Hitler was also an egomaniac, dictator, with the Napoleon Complex. I doubt our country is going to wake up one day known as the Fourth Reich also. It's a ban on unlawful guns, not the Constitution :p

Assault Rifles are banned. It's assault weapons people feel they have the right to own, which I don't agree with. Good point though

I think it is dumb, especially considering how they want to only take assault weapons. A pistol can kill aswell, although it's not guns that kill, it's people the people who bear them, and honestly i think it would be stupid to take one type and not the others. And exactly, if they want to get one they're gonna get it some way or another, so I think it would be a waste of time, but still it is very sad that people can't use them correctly. Who in there right mind would shoot innocent people, I couldn't even think of it. Especially children.

I doubt they are actually trying to ban them with the thought in mind "Hey this will stop all street and gang violence!" Because it won't. Their intentions are to stop massacres like VT and Sandy Hook. Not stop random street violence. When was the last time a Criminal walked up to you on the street and tried to mug you with a M4 variant? People who say but it only accounts for a small percent of street murders! Yes, they know that. The intention once again isn't to stop small murders in Brooklyn (or wherever) it's to stop mass murder.

I asked someone from Texas why he even had guns and he said just to wave them in peoples faces when they mess with him. They should definitely take away your guns 90% of the people with them don't know how to use them. Maybe the shootings in SCHOOLS will stop too.

What I don't get is why do they want to ban guns its not the guns its the people, why not just do background checks like Obama proposed that is the thing I 100% agree with Obama but on banning assault rifles?Nope 2nd amendment.
