You are running a 32 bit version of Windows. You need a 64 bit version to be able to use anything above 4 GB of RAM. Unfortunately, it's not an easy upgrade because you cannot update Windows from 32 bit to 64 bit at the push of a button. If you do plan on doing it, first make sure that your systems hardware supports 64 bit.

Five_Seven wrote Go to Computer > system Properties > Then click "Performance Information and Tools". Down at the bottom left. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] then tell me if it is 64 Bit compatible

you have a 32bit OS so 4gb is your limit.
seems like 1.25gb of your ram is been shared with things like onboard video.
so upgrade to a 64bit OS or take out the added memory and sell it as it will never be used

Thanks for the help guys.
Right now my setup is:
1024MB | 1024MB | 1024MB | 2048MB
Would i be able to take one of the 1024MB RAM Memorys out to get it to 4, Will the "usable RAM" limit raise then?

iAmRobby wroteNope. It'd either stay the same or lower. It still needs to reserve some for the system. Like in my case, I have 64 bit. 8 gigs are inside and 7.75 is usable.iAmRobby wrote Thanks for the help guys.

In my opinion and in your case, there really is no real point in upgrading to 64 bit if you're already used to everything. Upgrading to 64 bit requires clean install. On top of that, if you do go through with it all you're getting out of it is an extra gig of RAM. Is that one gig REALLY necessary?
