Its just a tiny iPad. If I was going to get an iPad I would want a lager screen. That's the point of it.

I have the iPad 4 but I think it's too much for portable and when I'm relaxing so...

They're good but forking out that much money on something is only reasonable if you will use it a lot.

In my opinion... No.
Why get a smaller iPad with lower specs, when you can get the bigger one with much better specs... I do understand it's significantly cheaper however the Google Nexus 7 is a great alternative and better in my eyes, although I am a huge Apple fan and an owner of the iPad Mini, I still find myself using my big iPad more.
Note; You already have the iPad 4 so why not stick with-it? It's an overall better device and the iPad Mini does not have a Retina Screen, however in March I have been told they could POSSIBLY be releasing a second generation iPad Mini, that's just what I have been told on the forum.

My first iPad was the "New iPad" and as skeptical I was about tablets I figured that if you are in school they are a godsend. My brother nabbed one of the iPad Mini's when they came out and honestly I love that thing. I prefer having a smaller tablet, easy to carry around and even though it doesn't have a retina display, it's a pleasure to use.

The iPad mini is a beautiful device and performs exactly like the others despite it's size. However you've mentioned that you already have the iPad 4 so it would just be a waste of money to buy the iPad mini. Yes it's smaller but that's it, it does exactly what the others do. As for saying the iPad 4 isn't portable, are you kidding me?
PS iPad mini doesn't have a retina display..
