For gaming, you don't need to overclock the CPU. You can save a lot of money by using stock cooling (which will be adequate for a non-K CPU), a motherboard that does not support overclocking, and a non-K CPU. Check out the $800 build I have in this post:

i dont know mucha bout amd but i have i5 3570k and its great for gaming but i would go with 2500k if i had the choice cause 3570k gets about 10 degrees hotter than 2500k

It's a die shrink and technically a new architecture, so you can't compare them like that. Performance will be about the same where temps match up unless you're really pushing them. Basically, the 2500K is not a better CPU than the 3570K, it just behaves differently, particularly when the voltage is changed.

well me and my freind had pretty much the same things inside our pcs, same gfx card same ram and he had a 2500k and i have a 3570k and i got around 23 fps more on bf3 than him but i was at about 7-10 degrees C hotter than him with the same cooler, and my case had better cooling than him

Something else caused you to have higher FPS. It was not the CPU. There are also too many variables for your observations to actually mean anything.

The 7950 will be faster in most games. 660 Ti if you can use CUDA or you only play games that are biased to Nvidia.

Don't get the 8320 no matter what. Major heating issues with mine. Go do yourself a favor a get the 8350 instead. It's well worth the money in my opinion.

It's the same silicon, but the 8350 is binned higher. The heating issues are from something you did wrong and due to the higher clock speed, the 8350 should produce MORE heat.
