I have a xenon and it worked forever. Then out of nowhere it started getting the red ring. And I was told to wrap it up and over heat it then turn it off and wait 20mins... then it was fine. I did that for a couple months and now I can't get the red ring to go away.

The Xexon jtag over heats a lot so that's probably your problem. If you bought from a dealer and got your Original Nand send it back to him and ask him to fix it
or just pay $30. I would recommend using a fan over your JTAG to keep it cold and unheated.

I know the towel method is popular but it could damage your motherboard and is just a temperary fix i used to have a xenon just keep a floor fan next to it to cool it down and it should be fine for a while but eventually it will break
