The PSU and case are terrible and Dynex-labeled units are trash. I recommend you replace your PSU ASAP.

you're right with the hard drive. and a case dosent really make any difference. now the psu is just fine 500w at 25 amps on the 12 volt line. ive owned plenty of dynex brand stuff and it all works flawlessly.

It's unlikely the unit can deliver anything close to what it's rated for.

These were terrible five years ago.

Also, the Logisys unit you recommended in your post is garbage. This is the kind of unit you'll find bearing the Logisys logo.

So you neglected the most crucial component. I even forgot to mention that the Logisys unit isn't even compatible with what you linked as it lacks a PCI power connector. It also has a -5V rail, which means this is a VERY old design.

No quality reviews exist for your PSU. That should be yet another reason not to buy it, along with the fact that it can't even output more than 410w if the unit can actual deliver what it is rated for (again, doubtful). Dynex-labeled PSUs are infamously bad. There's nothing you can say to substantiate that your PSU is of decent quality and again, I strongly suggest reading up on PSUs.

my 500w dynex psu looks fine works fine. i have been using it for over 6 months in my other rig.

That doesn't make it a quality PSU. You took a gamble with it and it's holding up for the time being. Lucky you.

i mean its not the best im 100% with you on that. but ive owend a few dynex products before
