valdiston wrote did you make sure you connected the sata and power cable correctly? that would be the first things i looked at instead of os's
pretty sure if Bios sees the HDD then the sata is connected as well as the power though my reading comprehension might be failing me as it does others.....

vokal wrotei Have installed Ubuntu and i do have access to my hdd???Apec wrote im trying to install windows, i cant right clickis it formatted properly ? can you try booting ubuntu or linux off a usb and seeing if you can gain access to the HDD and install from with in the live boot?

make sure the HDD is formatted properly for the type of windows install you are trying to do as well.

Apec wrote +REP'ed you for your helpi am glad you got it working, it did sound like a format issue windows is very picky you might want to keep that ubuntu disc for later experimenting or recovery its rather handy also if you have not messed about in linux much its loads of fun and you cant break a live boot with playing with things ;)
