wow... this whole thread is just... a mess

Let's get things straight. First and foremost, AMD does not in any way suck for gaming; Intel is just better in some situations.

Alienware

    *Overpriced
    *OEM parts
    *Dell
    *Outdated GPUs
    *Outdated CPUs
    *Dell
    *Dell
    *Dell

You're right, the thread is a mess. It's a mess because nobody's actually helping OP, they're just posting irrelevant garbage.

From now on, I'm calling DVD drives completely optional and not including them in my builds, for the record. It's 2013.

They're fifteen bucks shipped on a good day. So cheap it's hardly worth mentioning.

to be fair a thought AMD Bulldozer FX-6100 Socket AM3+ 6 Core Processor - 3.30GHz, 3.90GHz Turbo was pretty good because more cores are better for gaming

Not true at all. Games perform better with CPUs that have better per-core performance and few can even "see" more than a few cores. Intel CPUs perform far better than AMD CPUs do in games. You can't judge performance on core count and clock speed.

Nope, just because it has more cores doesnt mean its better and I5 and a I7 have almost no difference the i5 is even better for gaming. Also the I7 and I5 have the same amount of unlocked cores the i7 just has more locked cores
