Telstra wrote I thought iPhone's were always going to be legal to jailbreak?well it depends if you go and download apps for free but theres no problem with moving backgrounds and stuff like that all though if it is illegal in all cases apple/any other company just wants those thing for other phones for example the iphone 10 may have moving backgrounds

its not illegal to root or mod/jailbreak your phone regardless of manufacture once you have bought it the supreme court see's it as your property and that you can void any Warranty and do as you please with what is on it as well as the hardware so long as you do not violate and FCC regulations or copyright's.
you cannot unlock a phone to get free service or to connect to multiple carries at a time and now with the new law you cannot unlock a carrier locked phone to work with other carriers. please read the law before you misinform people with speculation.

Lol thats so stupid. He lets make it illegal to modify our own device that we paid for.
MAke it illegal to get paid apps for free, not jailbreak and customize your device.

I'm pretty sure they never wanted you to do this and it was never legal.
