Civilians can still own assault rifles, they just cant be fully automatic. I understand that they are people, but the majority of that 40% will still exist after an assault rifle ban. Only 2% of shootings are committed with assault rifles. Thats not even half a percent of murders.(thats roughly 110 people that get killed with assualt rifles per year in the US, .00000035% of people will get killed by an assult rifle this year.)

His should be in breaking news. & I don't think putting bans on guns will do much. We need another alternative

People need to understand that banning high capacity high power rifles is to stop tragedies such as Sandy Hook. If you want to be protected from a street killing, conceal a medium caliber handgun. an AR-15 is semi automatic, fully automatic weapons have been illegal for a long time now. It is possible to acquire a series of licenses to own a fully automatic weapon, but they are extremely difficult to get, and in many cases you need to have police or military background.

The Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun was found in Lanza's car. the Bushmaster was proven to be the weapon to kill all 26 victims, and the bullet cases found matched those of the Bushmaster.

Honestly, who cares about what gun was used. ALL guns should be banned from civilian use. End of. It'd stop the gun crime rate massively.
