the patch runs fine and everything its just the connecting issue. what if i signed in to an acount on my retail and plugged the rgh into the retail would that still work.

Maybe you did but I could have forgotten and you don't need to be connected to your internet to system link but if your connected to your laptop with your rgh go to your connection setup on your rgh and test connection to pc, it doesn't actually have to connect to the pc but if it connects to the network in the middle of the like loading screen sorta thing on the bottom then your rgh will be connected to the internet just not xbl. Let me know how that goes.

it connected so im gonna try again but like i said and i think you answered it but if i sign into an account and then unplug my ethernet cable and use this small one im connecting to pc with couldnt i just put the rgh and the retail on one wire to each other and still system link or will the unlocks and such per say not go onto live even with xbox live unlocks on. if i made that really confusing just let me know.

No that makes sense but how hard would it be to run one of the wires to your router?

I just turned them both off connected them with my small cable and they still wont connect. I thought you could go from one to the other and system link but idk
