456 with rebates. 25 dollars over budget, so for now, down the RAM to 4gb (1 stick) and when you have the money, get the identical model to up it to 8gb.

The build will last you longer than using a pentium.

Intel are better than AMD for gaming. If he gets the AMD then wants to get intel he will need a new board.. I will admit AMD are better for mostly everything apart from gaming. In my opinion i would go with the intel
