I got banned once for not paying my subscription. If it never happened to you, don't say it can't happen. The only way would be to buy an Xbox Live subscription.

Oh my gosh, it's not a ban, they simply take your Live away from you because your card couldn't pay it, I had it happen to me. It expired. I got that same exact message when mine ran out. What I did was change the debit card on it and bought another 12 months of Live and was right back online. Or you can buy a 12 month card/3 month, whatever you want and add it, you'll get it back.
