Collected Information about the New Xbox
Please note that the information provided below are mostly educated hypothesis
We are all aware of the new Xbox 720 console coming out. It is possible that it might be called Xbox Infinity. This post is to provide a topic where people can share their thoughts and what they want to see changed in the new console. This would be the perfect place to give honest feedback about the new changes that have already been announced, which includes:
- 8-core 1.6GHz processor
- 8GB of RAMan 800MHz graphics processor
- 50GB 6x Blu-ray Disc drive
- Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.
- Blueray Player
- Networking: Gigabit ethernet and 802.11 a/b/n/g WiFi as standard
- Connectivity: USB 3.0, Kinect In, HDMI 1.4a in/out, SPDFI out
- Accelerators: These are still quite mysterious, but there are three, used for Data Move Engines, Video Codecs and Audio Codecs.

Also, Sources say new machine will require constant broadband connection, block secondhand titles, and ship with a new iteration of Kinect. This one's still up in the air. Early news is that the new Xbox 720 can only play new games, in a sense, crippling an industry like Gamestop or any rentals. This one will be reviewed.
The Xbox 360 has had quite the run. Released in 2005, it has stood strong for nearly seven years and has only grown into a dynamic household unit capable of so much more than playing games.
Now with the release of the new Xbox 720, everything that we were just discovering will be that much better..!

Please do not post specs that were just made up, or have no source of proof.
Ex:
I dont want players to have to reset all their gamescore when the new system comes out.
- So accounts should just be transferred over to the new database.
There has also been a 'Durango Dev Kit" that was confirmed to be true.
The following is a Copy and Paste from the Source provided after the article

Many avid gaming fans would want a Xbox of their own. Who wouldn't? With all of the good specs and the awesome games you can play in the Xbox 360, there is no doubt that having this kind of console is something that many people would want. However, to those who have already enjoyed these kinds of consoles, they will want to expect some more. That is where Xbox 720 comes in.
The 720 is known as the next generation of the Xbox and may be known as the best Xbox there is. Many would be expecting that it will be more successful than the Xbox 360 by everything about it. There are some surveys that show that there are more people that would like to see and purchase the Xbox 720 than to its rivals successor, PlayStation 4. Plus, with the possible games that will go with Xbox 720, it is no wonder why many would want to have this console. Though the Xbox 720 maybe release from the long time this year, there are already some rumors about how it would look like. Moreover expect awesome functions that what the old Xbox didn't have. Some of these reasons, of course, are about what most gamers would have wanted for their Xbox console. Some even been able to make their own version of the Xbox 720 through pictures and video that is now all around the internet. However, there are some rumors that may be true such as the chance of the GPU and AMD of the console being higher and the chance that the controllers are now easy to handle.
No matter what things that might have pop out about the new product of Microsoft expect that once you have used the Xbox 720, you will be able to enjoy all of its function as you play with it.
Many people believe that Xbox might be venturing towards touch screen but no need to worry, they will still have the default sticks because they are an important part of gaming in many current games. They have reserved multiple domains, in which one includes Xbox8 which leans towards then new Xbox being called "Xbox Infinity"
Information about voice control:
One of the cool features of Kinect is the ability to control Xbox 360 through voice interactions. The only problem is that it isn't all that good.
The system requires users to use specific terms or sayings which appear on the screen, but it can be quicker to use a controller or a remote to find what you want, rather than spending a large amount of time shouting things at your console.
But all of that seems like it is going to change with the next-gen Xbox. Sources have learned that Microsoft has "big plans" for voice interactions on their new console, which will see that the system is improved to support much more "natural" speech recognition. Instead of relying on default commands like "Xbox, Music, Xbox Music", users will be able to ask questions and give instructions like "what's new on Xbox Music?" or "show me my playlists".
The new console is also said to support speech-to-text conversion, which offers a large boost to messaging interaction on the console.
It is also believed that it will allow users to turn the console on using a voice command, which isn't possible on the current-generation of Kinect. It will likely rely on the new Xbox offering a low power standby mode, which will enable the console to respond to boot up on voice command.

Speculation has also leaned towards the User interface in the New Xbox to resemble Windows 8. Since the Xbox is made by Microsoft it would make sense to resemble there new products.
Gamestop, a company that sells and trades games made a comment stating how it would hurt the Game company if they can't use 'OLD" games:
According to GameStop, they believe that any console which blocks the use of used games in any way would definitely be a bad marketing choice for the console in question. In this case, the console in question is the Next-gen Xbox which still hasn't been announced yet.
GameStop spokesman Matt Hodges told sources:
"We know the desire to purchase a next-generation console would be significantly diminished if new consoles were to prohibit playing pre-owned games, limit portability or not play new physical games."
He also stated that GameStop came to this conclusion based on surveys of their most active customers, the 21 million US members of their PowerUp Rewards loyalty program.
GameStop generated 27 percent of their revenue and around 46 percent of profit from used games during the business year which ended in January 2012. And a report by sources about the used games possibly being 'killed-off' caused GameStop's share prices to drop by 6.8 percent, which is their biggest fall in a month.
Although the used game blocking story was a rumor, if Microsoft does make that move, many consumers who play consoles and would rather spend their money on used games like most people, have said they will be switching consoles.
Microsoft has responded to these rumors by saying "We do not comment on rumors or speculation. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform, but we don't have anything further to share at this time."

Regarding the new Dev Kit:
Remember hearing about code name "Durnago" the Alpha test units of the new Xbox console. Well they have been sent back to microsoft by game developers. Now Microsoft is giving them the beta versions. Usually hardware can drastically change from the alpha verson to the beta version but it is a much bigger step to the final product. The new beta version code name is "Kryptos" and has the Kinect 2.0 technology in it. The source of this leak is SuperDAE who previously posted a Kinect 2.0 interface leak. The new dev kits are rumored to have blue-ray drive and up to 8GB of Ram included.
Regarding Microsoft Points:
If you have noticed, microsoft has been slowly avoiding having consumers using digital currency to pay for online goods. Microsoft is trying to eliminate Microsoft points and replace with just currency. For example Rather than consumers paying $19.99 USD for 1600 Microsoft points, users would instead spend the $19.99 directly based on their region of purchase. This would set a standard on prices, and make currency conversion easier for developers.
Kinect:
New claims came out that said the new Xbox will require kinect and must be plugged in at all times in order to function. The new kinect will be much more advanced then the current one, it may be able to track up to six people and identify smaller things like facial expression, hands, and even fingers.
With the next Xbox having voice recognition, you should be able to use voice commands like:
"Xbox on"
"Xbox off"
"What are my friends playing"
"View ____ Profile"
Some other things to expect is for the Xbox to talk back to you, you might be able to change the native tongue of the Xbox voice.
Since Microsoft owns Skype, the voice service is probably going to be found in the next Xbox.

Games:
The new game "Destiny" has released their official website with game play of the new game. Activision made a statement saying that the game will be current-gen and next-gen compatible. So the game will probably be released before the next Xbox console is.
Microsoft Involved in House search:
Source is at bottom of Thread.
Microsoft has released an official statement concerning the investigation by the FBI of the individual responsible for the rumors popping up about the Xbox720/Durango.
The individual, known by the Twitter handle SuperDAE, had his/her house raided after allegedly obtaining a Durango PC and posting it on Ebay. Durango is the codename for Microsoft's next generation console, better known as the Xbox720.
The statement is rather brief, and reveals some key information about the upcoming game console, which has yet to be officially unveiled.
"Microsoft did not initiate this FBI investigation with this individual, as has been asserted in some of the articles in the media...We take security very seriously and have no evidence of any compromise of our corporate network. We have no further comment on this matter,"
This comes from a Microsoft spokesperson, given to The Tech Game, originator of the report (via CVG).

What is interesting is that by claiming that the network was not breached, Microsoft is also publicly stating that anything and everything that has been claimed by SuperDAE could be considered false, including the claims about the new console will ship with Kinect 2.0. We'll have to wait and see how much of the details hold true.
Microsoft also has claimed that they are not responsible for the warrent being issued, thus leaving either the FBI or Ebay as the ones pushing this investigation forward.
While this is a blow to anyone who were excited by the rumors (or anyone who wished to buy the Durango dev kit that SuperDAE had listed on Ebay), we can rest assured that whatever the Durango/Xbox720 is, Microsoft will come forth with details soon. With the Nintendo Wii U out and the Sony PlayStation 4 expected to be on retail stores' shelves by the holidays, it would be advantageous for Microsoft to unveil the system sooner rather than later. The company is rumored to hold an April event to unveil the Xbox 720.
IllumiRoom:
Microsoft surprised everyone when they released the concept video that introduced the Xbox's IllumiRoom feature. This allows gamers to play new games while using a cutting-edge "Strobe Light" device that brings the game to life. So far, the new feature looks amazing. This can be the start of what the future of gaming may hold. Mircrosoft released a statement that explained that by using the Kinect and the IllumiRoom combined, you will be able to construct a brand new gaming experience. It will obviously take more time for enhanced development, but it's looking great!

I can't wait to use the new Blueray player.
Also I wonder what the price is going to be probably like 600 dollars.

I think they should make 720 accounts, where there are no names taken, so you can get whatever name you want, but if you want to bring your old account over, you can, but there can be 2 of any gamertag (360 & 720). What I think anyway... I don't care much for the blu-ray player.. Since I got a PS3 I felt the need to have one in every room of the house anyway, so there's about 4 in my house...
