I really dislike Skyrim. I've played all The Elder Scrolls for a time, and I think Skyrim is the worst. I think "newer' players might like it best because it seems it's made for more casual gamers. I mean ever since Morrowind The Elder Scrolls took a little more casual turn. By this I'm referring more to an easier game. Morrowind was still some what hard, but nothing to complain about. Oblivion (my personal favorite) was still debatable easy. The reason this one is my favorite is the game seemed to have the funnest quests in the series. The main quest was okay, but so many of the side quests were fun, but Oblivion should be as casual as The Elder Scrolls should have got. Arena was quite hard and glitchy, but if it didn't crash and you made some progress than you probably had some fun. Daggerfall was insanely huge, which someone could like, or get a headache from. It was still challenging, but it was still quite glitchy. Skyrim was really easy. It seemed the main hype for that game was dragons and graphics. Which in today's society it seems most new gamers actually care for graphics. Which there's nothing wrong for that, but graphics don't make a game good. I liked the idea of fighting dragons, but the combat with them was really bad. They're combat was really glitchy and they die too fast. Later on in the game your character is basically a god, and will destroy them with out a problem. I also didn't like the puzzles in that game. They were the same thing and other again. It was either one of the claws which you had to tilt upside down, or the statues that you would turn around. Some of the quests were fun, and some weren't. I was extremely disappointing with the Dark Brotherhood, and College. I would of preferred if they would of kept the Mage's Guild, and the Dark Brotherhood really wasn't that fun. Sure they were one or two quests that were fun, but the overall of it was quite boring. The game was really easy. You cloud play on Master, or whatever the hardest difficultly is, and run through the game. Well, I think I've spent to much time on this post.

I personally enjoy it being more casual. **** having to pay attention to every detail and run everywhere and worry about not getting all your stats when you level up.

I think they did an amazing job. I for one think Skyrim is great, I liked Oblivions story and gameplay better (Despite the leveling system which was fcked up)

I have been an elder scrolls played since morrowind on the xbox. i have also played the elder scrolls 1 on dosbox but am yet to play 2. With that out of the way i have to say that i disagree with you.

I found skyrim one of the most enjoyable elder scrolls games in the franchise

I agree with I think "noobier" players would like it better. Plus why would he move it the rant section? He's talking about The Elder Scrolls, it should be in this section anyway.

I have also played the other Elder Scrolls games, and i disagree with you. I believe that Skyrim has the best Combat mechanic including spells in an elder scrolls game to date, i believe that the quality of the quests (not all) was also of equal standard to Oblivion, my only dislike to the game was that im not much of a fan of Skyrim in regards to the land, its not my thing i would have much preferred to play in a better looking cyrodil which had Huge lush forrests aswell as swamps meadows and mountains, Oblivion is also my favorite TES game so far.

I think i know what you mean for me Skyrim seems a little "dumbed down" so that it would suit a wider audience of people, THis included loosing things like spell making from oblivion which i personally think was one of the awesome things about TES games, This being said they still did a good job with spells, the only other issue with magic users is that in the vanilla game your magic doesn't scale so at lvl 50 + playing any harder than adept can be pretty damn tricky.

The quest lines i thought were realy good, maybe a little on the short side especialy the companions, The Dark brotherhood questline kinda sucked in Skyrim and was Amazing in Oblivion, but the thieves guild, College of Winterhold and Main quests i think were atleast equal to if not better than the Oblivion counter parts.

I think that graphics is overall a major part of todays gamine, i have to admit if i were to pick up a new game now and it had amazing features but had the graphic quality of Morrowind i would be disapointed and so would 90% of people if they tell the truth, because in todays world we hold a higher standard of what we want from games.

Just have to say, I agree with almost all you say. But to be honest, for me graphics do make a game nice in looks, but if its fun in its game play then its still enjoyable for me. I still play games from PSX days and such. Even occasionally going back to the classic Master System.

If its to easy, play on master and don't use daedric armor. I use the dragonborns armor, iron gauntlets, iron boots, iron helmet, and I think its studded armor? Haven't played in a while, I use all of these and end up with an armor rating in the low 300's+Master makes the game more fun and very difficult.

An option for the light armor is to use either Vampire armor, its low rating but looks good
