Just wondering if this is an effective way of raking in a small income?

I did years ago but now its pointless you need a crazy powerful video card (or 4) and it still takes too long to get a single coin.

Well, there are ASIC miners for your choosing. ASIC miners run anywhere from 4.5GH/s to 1500Gh/s. Assuming that you used a GPU to mine, you'd get anywhere from 150MH/s to 700MH/s. Judging by calculations, if you bought a 4.5GH/s miner, you'd get $18 a day, whilst only using 4.5 watts. However, the difficulty will rise once these miners hit the market, and by my predictions, you'd be making more towards $10 a day. I myself am going to wait this out, and after all of the preorders get shipped out, I'll see how the bitcoin economy is doing. If it's doing well and there's a chance I can turn a profit, then I'll definitely be getting one. I'd advise the same.
