login to the default gate way
you can find your gate ways ip through command prompt with ipconfig
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
open a browser and go to the gateways ip
a login will pop up the user is admin the pass is password
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
you are now logged into your router and can setup the LAN/WAN and wifi to your liking.
for the xbox clicked the advanced tab in the netgear ui and then select LAN then setup address reservation hit add find your xbox's MAC address and bind it to the IP its using.
then back in the advanced column select portforwarding then service name ftp and the IP of the xbox and hit add. now click the dot by the name of the new service and select edit
set the service name to XBL
set the protcol to tcp/udp
and set the starting port to 3074
and the ending port to 3074 as well
click apply let the router reboot and then restart the xbox.
you can also just turn on UPnP but it is less secure.
