Robin Van Persie or Luis Suarez?

Me and my mates argue about this all the time, personally I think Luis is better. Robin only has one more goal yet he plays for a team which is in first position, where as Luis has had to almost single-handedly win most of our matches for Liverpool.

Luis can do lots of skill, is much quicker and I think he's an over-all better player. For people who think Robin's better think of this, do you honestly reckon he'd be as good if he played for a team which is eighth like Liverpool? Would he still shine then?

People say Robin is more clinical, but Luis is the only player in the top five leagues in the world along with Cristiano (Ronaldo) and Lionel (Messi) to have over a hundred shots.

Even though I'm an Everton supporter and I really dislike Suarez because of his attitude and behaviour, I think he is brilliant. The best striker in the prem I reckon. Van Persie is only a finisher and can do the odd assist now and then whereas Suarez can take players on, dribble well and can finish the ball. Liverpool would be nothing without Suarez this season, also his performance in the second leg against Zenit was superb.

Like the poster above im not a fan of suarez as a person but he is a fantastic player and i would have to go with him.

Although what you say could be turned around,You say van persie gets a lot of goals because he is in a good team,But if he is in a good team people like rooney and the other STs over there are going to take a share of the goals so h still needs to work for the goals.

Where as in liverpool suarez is the main ST (Before sturridge,Not sure how you play now with both of them) but he was getting assissted alot because of that.

Looking at both those players though it just makes it worse looking at our strikers (Chelsea fan) and shows that if we had someone like van persie or suarez we could be contending for the title.

Thanks for your answers, personally I think Luis is better too.

I was asking for your opinions and I'm glad that you've been unbiased and given a general view, some of you have said you dislike him but as a player he's good. I have no problem with people saying Robin is better aslong as you back up your answer, I hate people saying things like Robin is better because he plays for the team you support. I'm asking which player is better not which team. Although I support Liverpool even I have to admit that for the money they've spent and the history they've had they are really under-achieving at the moment.

Keep the answers coming, and give your opinion on the poll!

We usually play 4-3-3

Sturridge (ST) Downing (LW) Suarez (RW), Although Suarez and Sturridge sometimes swap positions, also Sterling sometimes takes Downing's place. Assaidi is better than Downing and Sterling in my opinion yet has only played two or three matches.

Luis Suarez has now overtaken Robin Van Persie for the golden boot and is now on 21 league goals after a hat-trick against Wigan Athletic last night, while Robin Van Persie is still on 19.

Yes that is because other people within Manchester United can score (Rooney and Hernandez). But with Liverpool Suarez is the only person who can score consistently. Therefore he has more opportunity because they will all pass to him to score
