Processor: AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon HD Graphics
Installed Memory (RAM): 10.0 (9.40 GB usable)
System Type: 64 bit operating system, x64-based processor.

Is this good for running games on steam? Is it battlefield 3 playable?

Everything is able to be played but if you want good settings than I'd throw in a GPU. The APU should play it on low around 20-30 fps from the benchmarks I've seen though that is with almost all settings turned all the way down.
