Every house needs to have an entrance, Espeana said, reading over the list. Check. The first floor needs to be made of stone. Check. Then she moved on to placing wood blocks to form the upper floors.

Mac Johnson, 12, was also working intently on an insula. Mac had played Minecraft before and wasnt surprised that his teachers decided to use it in class.

Mr. Lanphier said the reason that were using this is because its an accurate way to build things without just having to write down all this stuff, Mac said. You still have to make floor plans, but its more interactive and more fun.

I can't believe teachers are using minecraft to help students build an Ancient Rome City. To use minecraft as a demonstration and even more, to let kids actually use it for history experience is pretty cool.

Heard about something like this a few months back. It's weird how the school system used to shun video games seeing them as a waste of time, and now they are starting to use them avidly.

In my school we are allowed to play Minecraft. They think it is educational.
