As far as I know of, the amount of GB you have when you purchase your iDevice is the amount of space you will have on it forever until you get a new one.

Your gb are installed as a hard drive into the phone. Maybe you can fake the number of bg but there is no possible way of increasing it. If you buy a 8gb iphone it's only going to be 8gb and can't go further.

No, you cannot add or get storage. Storage is a physical item on your iPhone.

That's the iCloud, Apple allows you to purchase, unless you're using Cydia, a certain amount of space for the Cloud, a system that backs everything of yours up to the internet. that is not physical gigabytes.

It is impossible to add more hardrive space to any iPhone, iPod, or iPad besides buying a new one with more space.

You can edit the numbers in the settings tab but that does nothing to the actual amount of space your device has.
