Can someone explain the ranking system in zombies because iv been on the skull with blue eyes and I have been on it for ages and some reason I just can't level up

Go high rounds and be a team player then you will rank up.

The only honest answer is no one knows. People will tell you it's to do with kills to downs, some say its rounds per down some say its getting high rounds consistently. I have been stuck on skull with knife since December and have just given up on trying to rank up.
