20+4 pin to the main board
SATA to the HDD
SATA to the DvD drive
6 pin to the GPU


You're right, its not that hard, but its the hardest part of building the PC. You want to maximize your airflow and there are so many ways to do this depending on your PC case. Having to tie down cables and untie if you find a better route takes time. Plugging the cables/components in is simple as most only go one way.

True I forgot to mention tying down cables. It's a pain!
