It's actually quite easy to get, most members just spam the news articles.

It is possible but some people are ridiculous like theyll have full blown conversations in the News Comments just to get their comment post count up

I don't think enough stories are posted for people to get it easily, but people do just spam in order to get the badge.
I also think posting on there shouldn't count towards post count, you see people who are MVC who have all their posts as news comments.

I agree, the MVC badge does encourage a hell of a lot of spam which makes me embarrassed to have the badge, which is the reason I no longer show the badge. However, before the MVC badge was introduced, the news section was completely dead and hardly anybody ever commented in it. I think it brings many more people to the site to visit and possibly sign up. So yes, it is annoyed for members, but Sean is probably loving all the spam as it brings more and more people to his website.

I hear you guys I have been here for 2 years and only have 16. I think
People look at as a easy route to getting more posts, rep and a badge.
Badges have become more important lately like it gives you more importance
or something and M.V.C leads the way

It's not called the spamming badge for no reason. But they don't get rep for that so... Yuno let spammers be spammers

There's a difference between spamming and replying to people about a certain topic.
