I had to do this twice with my iphone4 because of a siri problem.
The volume thing didn't work for me either so I just plugged it in to the computer and done a full restore. Phone works 100%

Wait, reboot once more but as soon as you see the apple logo hold down the volume up button and the home button aswell.
I guess if this fails you could enter recovery and do a full restore?

If you're only on 5.0.1 than you probably installed a tweak that was above 5.0.1
Is your phone in a constant loop (Boot up, show apple logo, Repeat)? That's what mine was doing and it took me a few tries to restore. Just keep trying and it will eventually do it.

when trying to restore.. i think... i recieved error 3194 in the beginning, then 21, but now just 11 i think... im trying again to be sure... but after the failure i get the recovery loop or the "connect to itunes" loop so then i use tinyumbrella to fix that... but then it starts over again with the apple logo loop...

ill try and explain... it shows apple logo for a min then if i let it sit there it show an actual loop that spins for 2 sec then gets stuck... but over time its like it keeps retrying but to no avail...
