my mate wants the email to his old account is there anyway of finding out the email for it

If he still has access to the account on the xbox then you should find it in the top right hand corner, if he has no access to the account then sorry i can't help there but i hoped my post helped anyway ;)

Not sure if it's possible anymore, he should call Microsoft and tell them the gamertag and password and they will ask him a bunch of security questions to confirm his identity and ownership.
