Right so basically guys i thought i'd put this out there! every time somebody speaks about sponge or i touch one i cringe and shiver is this normal?

It sounds like you have poriferaphobia. So tell the doctor you have that and maybe he/she will listen.

me and my brother get it from velvet too but i don't get it as bad as i do with sponge!

Try watching Spongebob. There are more people than you think that hate things like sponges, velvet, buttons etc.. I hate the feel of sponges but not the sight. If you are really concerned visit a Dr.
