my ipod wont play music i checked ringers and alerts and the sound plays from there
i reset the ipod and deleted all the music and resynced it and it still doesnt work

Your music files are probably corrupted. Re-download them from iTunes. Don't sync.

So you can hear the music perfectly through the headphones? Many iPods do that. I know mine does.

My iPod doesn't do that and it has never had that problem so i'm not an expert, but i think you might have blown your speakers.
