i want buy bo2 off steam but will it work on windows 8

Yes, Black Ops 2 will work on Windows 8.

People have been having problems with startup crashes, though, but there are fixes if it should happen.

For future reference, if it's on Steam then the chances are that it will work unless stated otherwise.
