Hey guys, I'm getting 150(GBP)(230USD) for my birthday, and want to upgrade my PC, which is the Dell OptiPlex 745, I'll list components below. I want to maximise performance for gaming as much as possible. If anyone could recommend parts that would suit my budget, that would be brilliant.
(Please don't post Newegg links, I live in the UK and I'm unsure if they deliver here.)

Motherboard: Dell 0RF705 ( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )
Processor: Intel Pentium D 925 3.0GHz
Memory: 4GB RAM
Video Card: Intel GMA 3000
CPU: 305W (Unsure of branding, haven't opened up the PC)
HDD Space: 250GB
Case: Mini-Tower Dell OptiPlex 745 (H: 40.89cm W: 18.69cm D: 44.50cm)

Frome experience with Dell systems its unlikely you can upgrade the motherboard as most Dell's use clips to hold their boards in and not screws. Its really what you use it for, you could buy an SSD if you want general speed improvement in startups etc or try and get a decent graphics card, but you'd need a new PSU aswell.

"CPU: 305W (Unsure of branding, haven't opened up the PC) "

What did I just read?

If I were you I would learn computers and end up building your own.

But it's not really helpful saying that if he has 150 plus Dell usually use Foxconn PSU's anyway.

With this sort of budget the best you could get is a new GPU and a new PSU which you would need. Save up a bit then get the components one by one.

Your best bet is an memory ram upgrade two stick of 2gb ddr2 and a good cheap video card. pci express 1gb will do also it has to be small factor because of the case. a Psu will not work unless you change your tower case to mid or full (your is mini) and does not fit. also for the ram upgrade to be complete your windows has to be 64 bits. hope this helps

It would be best to sell this and save up for a new build. Every part is outdated and upgrading anything will create bottlenecks.
