People camp for various reasons....maybe they try to get a good KD. They could be going for scorestreaks, or a certain unlock. Or any other reason like this. Maybe they actually think that they are right, and that there is nothing wrong with camping. Of course we cant get angry with them JUST because they are doing something they don't see anything wrong with but it is the fact that they are doing something that is widely unappreciated by the gaming community, which makes them selfish.
Then, there are people who camp just to piss people off.(The worm is the perfect example of this) I can understand when you mess with someone, or troll them (to an extent) but getting people angry and ruining their enjoyment makes you a jerk, and contributes to the destruction of the online gaming community.
People may also camp so they can execute a troll (eg. the hidden masters, when they got a kill then hid for the rest of the match). This, of course is understandable because the person who is being affected by the camper (I'll just call them x) is in a better position to defend themselves (eg. search the map properly), as opposed to x walking around a corner and getting a shotgun to the face by someone behind a riot shield.
Some people may believe that it is ok, because the game developers have made it possible, but it is still a noobish way to play the game and should be one of the last thing a cod player wants to do.

TBH, this is pretty much why I quit CoD. I hardly have an issue on other games with this. I don't mind them when they are horrible at camping, because it just becomes funny. But when they find that one corner in the whole map that you can't get into without walking in one door, head glitch behind a few barrels and use shock charges to cover the entrance. Oh my god, it make my blood boil. It then goes from, "Sneak up on them or use flash grenades" to "Just walk away and leave them be" because they simply can't be killed. I'll flash them, they spray, I shock them and they have that damn perk on, etc.

It just gets irritating, I understand they bought the game and I respect that, but seriously.. Move at least once besides when the game starts!

As far as their reason, well I'm not really sure. Everyone is different. I've noticed people go ahead and do it, and gloat when they go 10-0 even though people will have 70 kills and 4 deaths. All about the KD.

Or even when they rush with a shotgun and get killed too much, they switch to an LMG and sit in the corner.

I personally never camped. The most time I'll sit in a corner is to reload, lay behind barrels when I go grab a drink or in Search when I know someone is coming towards me so I'm just waiting for a few seconds. Otherwise I'm either cautious or sprinting.

I got over it. I mainly play Zombies if I do play CoD, or I just do something stupid to pass the time. Ex: I'll run around and suicide bomb everyone. People seem to get mad for some reason. xD

Honestly, I spend more time away from my controller anyway. I'll let the game start, crawl into a corner and go make dinner while watching a movie. Come back every 10 minutes or so to spawn in. I'll start playing again when I'm done.

Fair enough, you don't have to be committed or addicted. Have a break every now and then. With the suicide bombing thing, screw them, they should let you re-live Osama xD.
Just slowly follow them around until they're in a small room xD
