This was my assignment for university.
I had to draw and produce a 3D model that will be used in a FPS game.
All of the screenshots are of the models that I in 3DS max.
Out of 10 what would you rate these and what would you say I could do better next time ?

Interesting stuff...

I'm nearly clueless when it comes to 3d modelling.

But it's always nice to see new talent here.

Thanks for sharing.

I am not sure how long you spent on this but for games it just wouldn't hold up it is years behind and VERY angular maybe try to work on it more make it smoother and work with more polygons in each shape looks like each shape has about 5 sides and thats it

Due to me not knowing what level of work you are at, I can not comment on whether it is a good standard for your personal self.

Industry standard, this would be required to be much smoother, but would hold up on a niche type game, so a game which has a much smaller target and fan base.

You say university in the title of the topic yet college in the actual thread, which are you attending as this would allow me to give better feedback on your assignment.

Practice makes perfect, so just keep working on the project and making it smoother, and it will look great!

Thank you for the feedback, I will be taking it all into consideration and changing the map and making it better. I shall post more pictures once I have fully completed it

If I may ask, how long exactly have
you been working with 3D modeling?

Anyway,
There is much to be worked on here.
I will recommend only a few things here though.

One of the main things, texturing.
You really have to work on this. This should
probably take the longest of all to do.

Look up some tutorials on working with an adding
custom textures. Because to me it looks like you just
Slammed the whole image with only one pre-made texture.

Also, a Matt has already said. The piece doesn't look
to have but 5 or 6 sides or edges. You will need to
add pleeeeeeeeeeennntty more for it to actually look good.

And really, the total time spent on making a map, or character model
alone should take more than 2 weeks.
This is something that defiantly will require time and commitment.

Please don't think that I am hating on it,
Or you either, I'm just providing whatever help or
Feedback I can to help you out.

I mean the best mate.

Good luck an I really do hope to see you around
more man. I like this type of stuff lol..

For what it matters,
-Chi

As what's already been said about the texturing and the polygons I feel that there should be more detail with the map, a little more diversity if that makes any sense ?
