The past 2 nights I've had a Lucid Dream but I don't know when I'm in sleep paralysis.. To be fair I don't have a clue what it is. Could anyone give me a brief description of the two?

Here's a very brief description:

Lucid dreaming is when you can control your dreams. (I'm sure most people know what this is.)

Sleep paralysis is something completely different, it's when you're woken up in the middle of a dream and unable to move for a few seconds. Most people don't know this but you're actually unable to move when you're dreaming so you don't act out your dreams and sometimes when you suddenly awaken during this time you can't move at all. It's happened to me a few times, it's a weird sensation.

Hmm, kinda unrelated, but wouldn't that mean sleep walkers have some type of disorder, or something along those lines?

Yeah, I actually just started to think about that too so I did little bit of research and it turns out when your sleepwalking you're not actually dreaming. Before when I said people don't move when they dream I meant in REM sleep, which is when you're in your deepest sleep. When people sleepwalk they are in one of the stages of NREM sleep, which is when you're not dreaming, just sleeping.

Now let's take a look at some of these criteria. During the first third of the night, your body is in NREM (non-REM) -- your deepest stage of sleep. NREM sleep is when you tend to toss and turn in bed. Your brain quiets down, which means that you aren't dreaming. So sleepwalkers aren't acting out their dreams. Think of it this way: In NREM sleep, your brain isn't very active, but your body is. In REM sleep, your brain is very active while your body isn't.

Good question.
